I Love Him

Look at me two blog posts in two days!!!

You know how they always say the internet is FOR-EH-VER (must be said in Sandlot tone)? Well in my case I truly hope it is! I want my blog to be a type of time capsule for myself, my friends and family, and especially my son.  I can only hope that one day he will look back on this blog and smile and say to himself "I am loved!" That he will look past those embarrassing moments, that I know I will be the cause of, and realize that he had a mother that loved him to no ends. To help boost this embarrassment I want to tell him exactly how much I love him and what I love about him at this age...in list fashion!

  • I love his little personality
  • I love the little pitter patter of his feet when he runs on our wood floors
  • I love sweeping his long hair away from his eyes
  • I love the way he plays with my fingers when he is falling asleep
  • I love the way he wraps his arms around the back of my knees
  • I love his soft touch
  • I love his soft skin
  • I love when he sits in my lap to read a book and put on his shoes
  • I love those gorgeous brown/grey eyes
  • I love the cleft in his chin
  • I love how much he loves to swing
  • I love how much he loves his dogs
  • I love his scream
  • I love his laugh
  • I love that his thighs are his most ticklish spot
  • I love how much he loves to talk
  • I love those blonde locks
  • I love that he loves food
  • I love watching him while he sleeps
  • I love how he falls asleep in his daddy's arms
  • I love his outie bellybutton
  • I love his long little fingers
  • I love his love for the outdoors
  • I love his curious mind
  • I love every milestone he has
  • I love when he falls asleep on my shoulder
  • I love that he prefers to be pantless at all times
  • I love how he sings himself to sleep
  • I love all the little noises he makes
  • I love how he talks to the boy in the mirror
  • I love he has a love for books
  • I love this boy to the moon and back!
I could go on and on about all the things I love about this boy, but I will save the rest for another day and another embarrassing moment!

Family of Three

How has it been two months?!?!?!?!  On a rainy day in June he was born.  After a long night of labor my little man was born on June 20th at 2:02pm.  Graham Joseph came into our lives three and a half weeks early weighing 6lbs. 15oz. and measuring 19in. long.

These past two months have been the best time of my life.  This little man has shown me what life is all about and all the things to look forward to in life.  I cannot describe or put into words the amount of love I have for him; for he is my world and my everything.

Trevor gave me this Black Tahitian Pearl necklace and a "Push Present" which is Graham's birthstone.  I am going to love sharing my birth month with him!

Two and a Half

I feel like it was forever ago that I was pregnant! Time has a way of flying by too fast; my little man is now seven weeks old and I feel like he is about to start driving or leave the house to go to college any day now.  I like to look back on these pictures when we were a family of two and a half and see how much our lives have changed for the better since G-Man was born.

Bumps N' Babes

I decided early in my pregnancy that I wasn't going to have a Baby Book.  You know one of those "Precious Moments" books where you fill out all your cravings, every kick, and all your doctors appointments.  I wanted something a little different so I have been making a coffee table book, for lack of better words, of my pregnancy.  I have been filling it with pictures, letters to my son, and memories of my pregnancy that I think he will find more interesting to flip through as he gets older.  I know I would have rather seen pictures and letters from my mom in a book rather than knowing she craved saltines and peanut butter on Friday, March 13th, 2015. Just saying.  These have been some of my favorite pictures so far in making this book.

My Three Boys!

Week 17...Fourth Ultrasound

Making sure he knows everyone from Mozart to Lynyrd Skynyrd!

Week 20...We chose a name!

Painted his nursery, can't wait to add more to it!

Merry Christmas!

With each year's end you begin to reflect on the year you are leaving behind and with each year's new beginning you begin to make goals and resolutions for the new year to come.  In 2015, I resolve to be the best mother I can be!!!  Trevor and I are expecting our first child!!  We look forward to our new bundle of joy to come July 13th, 2015!!

I am excited for this new journey in life and look forward to all the trails and joys that it will bring.

My Honeysuckle Days

"Redesign is a death sentence...No it's not, it's a chance to have some fun!" If only I had a fruit roll up right now. So I might watch too many chick flicks!

After spending more time on my blog lately I began to realize it didn't feel like me.  What was Huckleberries and Heels anyways?  I'm not a big Mark Twain fan and blueberries are ok; however, if the 1990's Val Kilmer asked I would be his Huckleberry!  There I go again with the movie references.  Then the "Heels" part, I do appreciate a good pair of heels, I do own too many to count, and I'm always wearing them, but they don't define who I am.  So my question to myself became, what does define me?  That's still a question that I don't know how to answer but I started thinking how do I relate me as a person to my blog.  Well I have never defined my blog, it's not a fashion blog, it's not a decorating blog, and it's not a how to turn a paper clip and toilet paper roll into art blog either. My blog is just me, simple as that.

Then came the hard part, figuring out a new name! I stumbled upon this song and video by Jessi Alexander called Honeysuckle Sweet.

This song and video fit me to a "T."  I can't begin to imagine how many times day dreams take me back to Mulberry Drive eating the honeysuckle that grew in my back yard in the summer months as a kid.  Those are the times to cherish, the innocent sweet days of childhood.  Those are the days I want to create for myself as an adult, those Honeysuckle Days!
